In Chania you can travel with domestic flights from other Greek airports, as well as international charter flights from many European countries. Chania Airport “Ioannis Daskalogiannis” is located on the Akrotiri peninsula, 14 kilometers east of the city and is connected by bus and taxi.
To Chania from the Piraeus Port. There are daily ferries from Piraeus to the port of Souda, 7 kilometers east of the city. The journey to or from Piraeus takes about 9 hours and ships depart in the evening (9 pm) and arrive early in the morning (5:30 am). Passengers can sleep in cabins or in armchairs (cheaper ticket), while restaurants and cafeterias operate on board. During the summer months there are also daytime itineraries.
In winter and summer there are also super fast ferries that travel to and from Chania in about 4.5 hours.
