You can travel in Chania by airplane with domestic flights from other Greek airports. You can also visit Chania by airplane with international charter flights from many European countries. The airport of Chania is called “Ioannis Daskalogiannis” and it is located at Akrotiri, which is 14 km away at the east from the city.

Of course, Chania can be reached by ship, too. There are daily schedules from the port of Piraeus to the port of Souda, which is located 7 km away at the east of the city. The duration of the boat trip is about 10 hours, and the ships begin sailing usually on nighttime (for example, 9:00 pm) and reach their destination early in the morning. Passengers can sleep in a cabin or in airplane type armchairs (the ticket for the airplane type armchairs is cheaper). Restaurants and coffee shops are available in the ship, while during summer the ships begin sailing in the morning, too.

Furthermore, faster ships (super fast ferries) are also available all year round and the duration of the trip is about 4.5 hours.
